Social Contribution

Estates aspire, within financial realities, to a philosophy of benevolent involvement within their communities to whom their existence is generally of great importance. The philanthropic contribution by these estates and their owning families is often extensive and little heralded. Pensioner housing alone on EBG member estates could be valued at tens of millions of pounds and estates are often the only providers of affordable housing. Most of the estates have well developed and active education programmes, particularly for school children, through which several have won awards.
